Lynda.com

Bucyrus Public Library is pleased to offer its cardholders access to Lynda.com’s library of instructional videos. Normally, using Lynda.com requires a paid subscription, but as a Bucyrus Public Library cardholder you can access Lynda.com content from any computer with an internet connection simply by entering your library card number and 4-digit PIN.

COMING SOON:

This summer, Lynda.com’s parent company LinkedIn will be absorbing the content into a new platform called LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn Learning will be integrated with other LinkedIn features, and therefore will require former-Lynda.com users to have a LinkedIn account.

  • If you already have a LinkedIn account, log into it, then verify your library card number and PIN. Once authorized, you will get introductory information about LinkedIn Learning, and then proceed to the content. Any Lynda.com history—learning paths saved, playlists compiled, certificates earned—will transfer over.
  • If you do not have a LinkedIn account, you will need to create one and complete LinkedIn’s introductory process. After that, you can use your library card and PIN to get access to LinkedIn Learning as above.

With LinkedIn Learning, users will receive more personalized recommendations for Lynda.com content, suggesting courses and learning paths that are more closely aligned with their career goals and educational interests.

Log into Lynda.com

Please note that you can only access course content through the Bucyrus Public Library login page, and not by directly visiting the Lynda.com homepage.

Need a library card?
You may obtain a library card at the library’s circulation desk. Just bring a photo ID and proof of your current address (such as a driver’s license, pay stub, or piece of mail you have received).

After creating an account (which only requires your name and e-mail address), you can watch videos, create playlists, bookmark pages, and obtain Certificates of Completion (that can be uploaded to your LinkedIn profile). Many courses also feature exercise files, so that if you’re watching a tutorial about Microsoft Excel you can follow the activity with downloadable, pre-populated Excel spreadsheet files.
